Gili Islands 4 days, Bali 3 days, the perfect 1 week holiday

For many people Bali can get a bit hectic this is why we recommend breaking your holiday up with a 4 day hit to the Gili Islands. If you want to really chill out and completely escape the madness of Bali then any of the 3 islands; Trawangan, Meno or Air will do the trick nicely.Even better if your coming to Bali in a large group why not stay in one of our luxury 5 bedroom villas Bali . Most of these villas have their own private chef, pool as well as a butler service and complimentary use of  a car and driver.

Most travellers who come to Bali for a weeks holiday tend to ignore any other areas close by and more or less stay in the same place; whether in their hotel, resort of villa. What we are suggesting here is to think outside the box and do something that not many people think of doing. That is, spend a few days in Bali and enjoy the shopping, restaurants etc – but after say 3 days hop on board the fast boat to the Gili’s and spend some quality time unwinding in a seriously gorgeous tropical paradise.

Now for those people that are reading this and thinking that packing up and leaving your hotel is time consuming and chewing into your precious holiday time, this is not the case with the Gili’s. You can literally leave your hotel at 9 am and be in the Gilis for lunch. All you need to do is organise a driver or taxi to get you to Sanur in the morning catch the 10.30 am boat and from there it’s a really fast 90 min boat ride. Nothing could be easier or quicker. It is really catered for tourism so all you have to do is make it happen. There are heaps of tour operators all over Bali tha can help you with this. Even your hotel concierge can help you book the boat ride – for the best hotels on the Gilis make sure you use this website as we have great deals on all rooms – in some cases with huge discounts of up to 50% off.

If you are staying in a hotel on Gili Trawangan, most of the best hotels & resorts on Trawangan are within 5 minutes of the ferry drop off point. Think about it, you can be lazing by the beach, exploring the fantastic marine life on within 30 minutes of getting on the island.

If you are thinking about heading to any of the other 2 quieter islands then they are also really close by and there are numerous shuttle boats leaving Trawangan every hour. This is the beauty of the Gili Islands that not many people know about. They are content to just accept the fact that Bali is lovely and leave it at that. But, little do they know what awaits them only a few hours away.

Although Bali and Trawangan are close to each other and part of the same country, they couldn’t be more different. Bali is way more touristy, noisy, busy and crowded while the Gilis is the exact opposite. It’s like your in another country. Let me summise it like this on the Gilis, there are absolutely no cars, trucks, taxis or scooters allowed. Transport is strictly via horse and cart or push bike – Bali on the other hand has some of the worst traffic jams I have ever seen in my life. Basically the southern part of the island is in complete gridlock most of the time.

So there you have it. A great little tip for those people heading off to Bali, Indonesia and want to experience something different if have a limited time frame. Personally, I would go directly from Denpasar airport straight o the Gili Islands but I know there are people that want to experience the delights of Bali for a few days.

If you think that 4 days is not enough on the Gilis’ think again. These islands are that chilled out and slow paced that believe me when I tell you that 4 days is ample. You will feel like a different person and be really thankful that you went to the effort of doing this for yourself.
