Gili Trawangan is now super easy to get to with  fast boats departing from Bali every hour. Forget hours of sailing or slow motor boats, these are high speed power boats that will get you to Trawangan very quickly.

The main fast boat route is between Bali and Gili Trawangan and there are a few operators to choose from. Following is some very useful information on the fast boats that will get you to Trawangan

Blue Water Express

The Blue Water Express is the first boat to take tourists between Bali, Lombok to The Gili Islands. It’s the oldest operator and has a 100% safety record. All the on board equipment is up to international standards, and the crew speak great English. This is with out doubt the most popular fast boat to the Gili Islands.

The service offers daily departures to the Gili Islands from Bali or to Lombok from Bali. There are 3 boats in total.

The real benefit of using Blue Water Charters is that you depart from Serangan harbour, which is only 15-20 min from the main tourist hubs of Seminyak, Kuta and Legian. This way to avoid the lengthy drive to Padang Bai where other charters depart from. You cut down serious travel time by doing this.

Ticket prices – Rp750,000 per person one way or Rp1,500,000 for a return fare

Children’s ticket prices are –  4  to 11 yrs are Rp590,000 one way and Rp1,180,000 round trip

There are 2 scheduled departures daily from Bali at 8aand 10 am.

The Gili Cat Express

The Gili Cat Express boats are all built in Australia and comply to international marine safety standards.The seating is comfortable and will get you to Trawangan from Bali in about 90 min.

The boat departs Padang Bai every day at 11.30 and you arrive at Trawangan at 1pm.

Ticket prices – Rp660,000 per person one way or Rp1,200,000 for a return fare

Children’s ticket prices are –  4  to 11 yrs are Rp495,000 one way and Rp900,000 round trip

Gili Getaway

The Gili Getaway leaves from Serangan and will take you directly to Trawangan and Lombok.

Price is Rp680,000 for a one way or Rp. 1,250,000 per person return.

Children under 12 Rp. 475,000 one way or Rp. 900,000 return.

The boat will depart Bali at 9 am and arrive in Trawangan at 11 am – an ideal boat if you want to get most of the day on the island.

Gili Gili Fast Boat Service

This service leaves from Padang Bai Bali and will go to Trawangan and Lombok. This is ideal for those Bali travellers coming from areas such as Ubud or the northern part of the island. The boat is extremely comfortable and serves light meals.

Price per person – Rp.690,000 per person / one way or Rp.1,250,000 return fare

Children’s prices 4 – 11 years – Rp.495,000/ one way or Rp.900,000/ return fare.

Boat departs Bali at 9.30 am and arrives at Trawangan at 11 am.

In high season Gili Gili have 2 boats operating each day, one that departs from Padang Bai and one from Serangan in Bali. Ticke prices hare are great value.

Super Scoot Fast Catermaran

This cat will depart Sanur Bali and have you in Trawangan via Nusa Lembongan and Gili Air. The trip time is around 2.5 hrs.

Kuda Hitam

This is a really convenient boat if you are staying in Amed Bali as it’s the only one that leaves from there directly to Trawangan. Thi is a serious bonus as you can spend a whole day travelling from Amed to get to Padang Bai. This is great for scuba diver who have finished their dive trip in the Amed area and now want to try out diving in the Gilis.

Adult Tickets Rp. 600,000 one way or Rp. 1,100,000 per person return

The boat departs Amed every day at 8.30am and will arrive at Trawangan at 9.30am – a very quick 1 hour trip. Tickets include transfers from any hotel in Amed, Candidasa or around Tulumben.

There are now so many operators and tour boats ferrying passengers from Bali to the Gili’s. All you need to do is make sure you recognise your boat when you are ready to go and come back. Transport between the islands can be made at your hotel or at any tour operator on the island.
